Back to DWARF! The Adventure Begins!

A Message from El G Grande:

Greetings from Bath, England, UK, EARTH!! The rumors are true! According to the news here, strange radio and television signals have been invading the airwaves over the past few weeks, and now, the source seems to be clear! The Red Dwarf Posse, the Gunmen of the Apocalypse, the BOYS FROM THE DWAAAAARF are BACK!

It's TRUE! After ten years, the surviving members of the Jupiter Mining Corporation ship Red Dwarf have returned to Earth, and the Liberty Conspiracy is here, in England, to welcome them home! (APPLAUSE HERE!) (NO, MORE!!!!!!!!)

Gard and Malcolm have arranged a wild, four day excursion to the land of warm beer, marmite, fish and chips, crisps, Mars bars equaling Milky Way (AKA Micky Way!), and DOCTOR WHO, in order to witness the return of Lister, Rimmer, Kryten, and the Cat (and, we hope Holly, and, could it be that Kochanski might return in some way also?), and it's been a blast so far.

Amazing flight over (listen to the first international audio here or on itunes or podomatic), and a crazy stay for a night in a bizarre hostel (which felt more like sleeping underwater than in air), minimum purchases to keep things financially good, and then a visit to Gard's friend Steve O'Brien, well known for his work with SFX. The first night of the Red Dwarf Celebration was like a huge carnival of televisual excitement, beginning with THE DWARF!!! Yes, the programme (British spelling here!) is wonderful, and epic in scale. Amazing effects, no studio audience, but lots of funny and classic ideas and lines from the writers. Great acting from all the characters, and a truly memorable scene for Craig Charles within the first four minutes. Everyone looks great, and the story is going to wrap things up better than ...  better than... well, better than a thing that really wraps things up really well!

Following the first episode of 'Back to Earth' Gard and Steve and Mick watched hourse of British comedies, and nearly split their sides apart laughing. Then, it was time for a Whogasm, as Steve put in the last two episodes of the most recent season of Doctor Who, for which Gard vows that one day he will write. If you haven't seen those stories yet, you need to. Davros. Sarah. Jack. Rose. Micky. Even K-9. A masterpiece on such an epic scale it encompasses thirty years of Doctor Who. There comes a moment when Darvos grimaces at Sarah, seeing each other for the first time since Genesis of the Daleks, and it will make any true fan of Doctor Who stand with mouth agape. Lis Sladen, wonderful. It almost deifes description.

Time to go. The second installment of 'Back to Earth' comes tonight, as the Dave Network gets its highest ratings yet!

The video posts will come shortly, and more audio will be on your way soon!

Keep conspiring!

Be Seeing You!
