Supreme Court Rules in Favor of New Haven CT Firefighters in Reverse Discrim. Case - More Fighting over Spoils of Plunder
Here's the argument:
"I'm a firefighter in New Haven, and I worked hard to pass this test so I can get a promotion in the government firefighting system!"
"Yeah, but we here in the rest of the New Haven government see that blacks and hispanics didn't do as well as you guys did, so we're tossing the results."
"But! But! We passed that test fair and square! We should be promoted in the tax-funded firefighting ranks!"
"Too bad. We're arguing that there is a compelling government interest to re-do the test."
"Heck! You government people are only fair when you do a test the way we think it's fair!"
"Yep. This is government, so we can do whatever we want."
"SHOOT! When government does something to screw US, we don't like it! But heck, keep government going, keep taxing people even though they might not want to pay for our salaries and would prefer to pay for private firefighters, because WE think that part of the deal is fair."
"Hey, at least we can agree on THAT!"
"Yup."
"Gimme a gun, we government people have to go collect more tax revenue."
