Tales from the Conspiracy

Cicada Ice Cream: Axed.

Once again, health officals meddling with private contracts.

One of the ice cream parlors here in Columbia Missouri has been serving Cicada ice cream.   Sparkys (what its called) also sells Guiness Floats(I get these) and White Russians, so they aren't a traditional ice cream parlor.

They sold out of their first batch apparently within hours, but health officals here axed it.  And whats even worse, they have nothing on the books pertaining to cicadas.  So on top of interfering with private contract, they are doing whatever they want EVEN THOUGH THERE IS NOTHING IN THE FOOD CODE ABOUT IT.   They wanted to axe it because meat is supposed to be kept above a certain temperature, but do you think they treat bacon ice cream the same way?

Council held autistic man unlawfully

holding somebody unlawfully is somewhat Orwellian, but holding somebody in what's described as a "positive behaviour unit"really does sound doubly Orwellian.

Attorney general rules against Dr David Kelly inquest

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-13709515

for those who don't know David Kelly was the man who compiled the dodgy dossier which the Blair government justified the invasion of Iraq upon.

I'm in little doubt that the security services assassinated Kelly & mocked up his suicide & I guess this government like the last doesn't want any inquest revealing it bumps people it fears

Metal Leasing: Your thoughts?

Today I was looking at kitco.com charts, (actually considering buying an ad on that site).

I came across charts showing the silver lease rate.  I have no idea what a silver lease is, or how such a contract would work, so I investigated a little, finding this article critical of the practice of metals leasing.

I am curious as to your thoughts on this matter.

Smelly Protectionism Alive and Well in the Land Down Under

http://www.ausparty.org.au/

Former State National Party Minister Bob Katter is a bit of a maverick here in Australia. He was a former Minister to Sir Johannes "Joh" Bjelke-Petersen, one of the longest serving Premiers in Queensland. After state politics Bob Katter took his protectionist policies to Canberra becoming the Member for Kennedy. He has a long pedigree in the National Party of Australia, and as a result of his independent style went rogue back in his early days in Canberra.

The reason I say this is he, has started a new political party, called the Australia Party. It's aim is to bring back trade protectionism into Australian economic policy. He does oppose the AGW carbon tax which has been proposed, however there is that little issue of freedom in trade.

How does everyone here think things are going to shake out?

What is everyone's opinion on how they see things unfolding in the U.S. over the next few years?  Are we going to have a slow, gradual decline where most of us accept a lower standard of living?  Will there be an economic catastrophe?  If so, will it lead to a complete loss of liberty or a rebirth of liberty?  Will secession of one or more states happen? I'm assuming, of course, that everybody who reads this think that DC cannot be reformed.

I know I shouldn't even be talking to these people...

So I'm having a discussion on some leftist forum and the guy I'm talking with has hit upon a very interesting tactic. He has begun simply pasting this same quote in every one of his responses:

"I do not like anyone stopping me from indulging my unchecked greed and malicious expoitative impulses..if I wanna use my natural advantages and position to exploit, hose, and use desperate workers, that's my business. Let me be a wolf, let me be myself...free, I was born free, and you gotta break a few eggs to make a freedom omelet" ...that's the argument you are making."

How can the State be illegitmate when all of it's actions aren't?

With all the talk by the mantra anarchists (a new term I've coined) of "putting people in cages", "men with guns ....", etc., I got to thinking.  Right now, the government has people in cages who, in my opinion, deserve to be in cages.  But if all of this caging is being funded by tax dollars, shouldn't we let everyone out.  After all, not everyone consenting to their tax dollars being used to cage these men and women?  What about the pacifist?

Back to the subject.  The State is doing legitimate things such as building roads, caging violent criminals, etc.  Should the consistent anarchist be agitating for the abolition of the judicial system?  Or should there be a correct order for the de-socialization of gov't enterprises?

Obama Starts Another War

Looks like Obama has done it again.  This time, it's not about death, destruction, and violations of CONstitutional protections.  This time Obama invades Columbia, and it's better than you think.

Liberty Dollar Founder Convicted in U.S. Federal Court

FBI Convicts Bernard Von NotHaus for Minting and Selling Silver Coins

from The New American:

Written by Thomas R. Eddlem
Monday, 21 March 2011 11:53

The FBI won a three-count conviction against precious-metals dealer Bernard von NotHaus on March 18 for the "crime" of minting memento "dollars" in silver, and the FBI charged in a press release that making silver coins is "domestic terrorism." Jurors came to the unanimous verdict after only two hours of deliberation.

Awesome (Penn and Teller on government "logic")

I *love* Penn Jilette. I've never seen his magic show but I am a big fan of Bullshit. Not to mention, at like 6'7" and 320-ish pounds, he has to be one of the sexiests Libertarians on the planet. Also, he has an awesome laugh.

He and Teller did a piece on high fructose corn syrup, ethanol and corn that I wanted to share. It's NSFW but wonderful in it's logic and delivery.

Why is it the makers of a Facebook game understand what the US gubment doesn't?

I play one Facebook game and it's started a thing where people can sell the "stuff" they accumulate. When you sell something you have to pay a 10% "coin fee". A tax right? Wrong! The instructions of the game say flat out that it's to keep too many coins from being in circulation. If there are too many coins ou tthere it will cause prices to go up.

So, why don't Bush, Obama, Bernake etc...understand this?

Here it is cut and copied incase you have to play the game to view the forum.

Interesting Result From Scotland

The Scottish National Party have for the first time now have a overall majority in the Scottish parliament.

The SNP want independence for Scotland & will no doubt use their majority in parliament to push for thi.

Scottish secession from the UK could be happening.

Skeptical=Conspiracy Theorist

I ran across an article in USATODAY(the university I'm at provides them for free like I assume many others do) about the refusal to release photographs of the body or any actual proof.  Throughout the article, they refer to people who are skeptical as being conspiracy theorists.

One of my friends brought up WWII after Hitler was pronounced dead.  Stalin wouldn't believe it until he saw the body and demanded some sort of proof.   UBL was pronounced dead and there is a refusal to release photograhs or show an uninterested 3rd party any evidence whatsoever.

The death of bin Laden won't change a thing.

None of our troops are coming home. We will still be over there for some reason. *coughoilcough*

This is going to piss off the extremists and could cause (will likely cause) another terrorist attack.

This is just going to inflate the American military ego and things are going to get worse.

UBL was a bad person, and to be honest, the world is better off without him. I just worry about ramifications. And again, nothing will change.
