The US and China, with Wendy Wang - Bush Gives the Communist Government the OK to Take Over Taiwan

Wendy, of Talk Radio News, joined Gardner Goldsmith to discuss the immediate and long-term ramifications of George's Bush's meeting with Communist "President" Hu Jintao. During the meeting at the White House, at which Hu received a twenty-one gun salute and champaign, a Chinese heckler was removed from the area. She spoke in English and Mandarin, telling Hu his days as dictator were numbered, and calling for more freedom in China.

On "Against the Grain", Gard welcomed Wendy Wang, of Talk Radio News. Wendy moved to the US when she was seven, her parents being lucky enough to come here in the 1980's. Wendy and Gard discussed the future of China-US relations, and the future of Taiwan.

Wendy reported that George Bush openly acknolwedged that he does not support Taiwanese independence. This stands in complete contravention of the US "One China" policy. That policy stipulated that the US officially recognized one nation as the official government of China. That government was the one established by Chang Khai-Chek on the island of Fomosa, it was called Taiwan. Gard explains how Taiwan has been ceded to China in this sound file.
