Years ago, a girlfriend of mine came to visit me in New Hampshire. She arrived in Boston - Logan from Heathrow. This is back in the late 1990's.
I had hired a limo to pick her up, as I knew she would have a great deal of duty free liquor. I waited there at the appointed time, in the baggage area. She didn't show. I called the airline to see if she missed her flight, which she did not miss. I had her paged. I waited, and waited, and waited. I was really worried that something dreadful had happened to her. Finally, at about two o'clock in the morining she is released (in tears of course).
I never imagined that agents of the government of the United States would violate a peaceful person like Geraldine. The poor girl had apparently had been stripped searched for stating that she would be visiting Roxbury, Massachusetts. I was outraged at what had happened. What made it worse for me was the fact that there was nothing I could do to take away the trauma, and knowing that those that had violated my girlfriend would not be held to account.
Despite the evils purpetrated against Geraldine, we had a great time together while she visited. We went on a whirlwind on concert going, seeing The Allman Brother's Band at the GreatWoods Center for the Performing Arts, saw Government Mule at Mama Kin's music on Lansdown St, and an additional two dates at Higher Ground in Winooski, Vermont. Oh, and
IDK wtf happened with those multiple posts. I'll delete those later.
As I was saying, Oh, and in the middle of that, we saw an acoustic show at the house of blues. It was awesome!
