American Indian activist Russell Means has inoperable throat cancer.  Means lost out to Ron Paul at the '87 LP convention.  He's going with the alternate medicine approach.  Let's hope he pulls through.

Relinquish liberty for the purposes of defense in an emergency?
Why? It would seem that in an emergency, of all times, one needs
his greatest strength. So if liberty is strength and slavery is weakness,
liberty is a necessity rather than a luxury, and we can ill afford
to be without it—least of all during an emergency.

This is terrible news, but I appreciate you passing it on. Means is a truly heroic man. I hope the alternative approach can yield some positive results.

Best to him, always.
