Email and web use 'to be monitored' under new laws

When I first heard these proposed new police state measures I thought it might be an April Fools.

Sadly its not an April Fools & even sadder is that the majority of people will go along with this police state state crap :(

When the Liberal Democrat party were in oppisition they use to oppose this kind of stuff but now they're in government they're making all sorts of excuses about how measures like this are in the national interest whatever the national interest happens to be.

One sure-fire way to encourage the growth of an 'underground' internet is by doing crap like this.      Soon, everyone who hasn't heard of TOR or encryption will be using it to hide their perfectly ordinary non-scandelous internet usage from the government.    Well, that's not true exactly.   There will always be a significant fraction who will bow down and/or not care at all that the government is tracking them.    But those aren't the people I'll be communicating with anyway.     Then, of course, the government will outlaw encryption.    Naturally, HIDDEN encryption will follow.  It already exists.    One thing is certain: the government will always be far, far behind the technology curve.   The geeks will save us.
