US Postal Service Grants Police Authorities Access to Personal Letter Info, WITHOUT WARRANTS -- Has Done Since 1998

The Constitution gives the federal government the power to create a US Postal Service, but not to create one that abridges the 4th Amendment, and not one that makes competition illegal.

Check out this story, and wonder if the Founding Fathers might have made a mistake granting the power to create a Post Office.

Then look up the story of Lysander Spooner, of Massachusetts. He started a private postal service in the 1800's, and it operated faster and cheaper than the USPS. What happened? The government shut him down, of course. Bureaucrats HATE competition.

Here is the story about today's USPS: http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2008-03-05-mail_N.htm

And here is a neat site about Spooner: http://www.lysanderspooner.org/

And at it, you will, after a bit of smart searching, find this, on the unconstitutionality of the US Postal Monopoly: http://www.lysanderspooner.org/bib_postal.htm

Spooner was a real hero!!!
